🌋Les Vendanges Event 2022 - Ice & Fire🌋

MSLpointFR presents The third edition of Les Vendanges is held in France and Iceland this year.

In South-West France, where MSL is located, the months between July to October, harvest is done in the grape vine fields. MSL gathered farms and wineries in both countries to once again offer a fun challenge for your horse & rider teams! This year, the region has been dealing with extreme droughts and wildfires, which will be reflected in the decorations of the classes.

The France part will be held on the beaches along the lighthouse of Cap Ferret, whilst the classes in Iceland will be held at the black sandy beaches near lighthouse of Svörtuloft.

There will be four classes and two side activities for fun! This event is both Effort and RNG and spans over two days in September story-wise.

MSL doesn’t endorse alcohol abuse and any wine tasting will be conducted under the watchful eye of our staff. For the non-alcoholic options, there will be a selection of local juices, syrups and cheeses.

Rules

- Horse age: 4 years min. - Rider age: 16 years min. - Only one drawn entry per class is required. - Only one team (rider + mount) per class can be entered. - Every entry must be made by you and for this event (No commissions, photo backgrounds or premade linearts/images allowed) - Collaborations are allowed, as long as all artists involved post separately. - Extra's are allowed, but only 3 will give you extra points. (Other disciplines for eventing, exploring the grounds, warming up your mounts etc.)

- Extra points are only for people entering the Effort classes! - Please properly credit your stock sources. - All realistic/nonrealistic breeds and riders are allowed, but don't use magic to cheat! - Have fun!

Classes

Class 1: CCI*3-L Eventing "Ice" (Intermediate) ❄️- Effort Disciplines: Dressage (day 1), Cross-Country (day 2), Stadium (day 3)

- Minimal requirement of fullbody entry with background. - Dressage moves: Collected trot and canter, extended walk, shoulder-in etc. (Dressage FEI test examples) - Cross country jumps: 1.15 m height + 5500 m distance. - Stadium jumps height: Max. 1.20 m - Appropriate rider clothing required (helmets too) - Correct and protective tack for the horses, bitless allowed - You're allowed to design your own jumps! - Dressage Course // Cross Country Course // Stadium Course - Inspiration Iceland

Class 2: CCI*2-L Eventing "Fire" (Novice) 🔥 - Effort RNG Disciplines: Dressage (day 1), Cross-Country (day 2), Stadium (day 3)

- Minimal requirement of halfbody entry with or without a background.

- Dressage moves: Medium walk, trot & canter, leg yields etc. (Dressage FEI test examples)

- Cross country jumps: 1.10 m height + 4500 m distance. - Stadium jumps height: Max. 1.15 m - Appropriate rider clothing required (helmets too) - Correct and protective tack for the horses, bitless allowed - You're allowed to design your own jumps! - Dressage Course // Cross Country Course // Stadium Course - Inspiration France

Class 3: CEI2* Endurance "Ice" (Intermediate) ❄️ - Effort Disciplines: Endurance (day 2)

- Minimal requirement of fullbody entry with background.

- Distance: 130 km / 80 miles

- Endurance is going the whole day (not just the afternoon) - Protective rider clothing required (helmets too) - Correct and protective tack for the horses, bitless allowed - You're allowed to add in any local flora and fauna. - Endurance "Ice" Course - Inspiration Iceland

Class 4: CEI1* Endurance "Fire" (Novice) 🔥 - Effort RNG Disciplines: Endurance (day 1)

- Minimal requirement of halfbody entry with or without a background.

- Distance: 85 km / 52 miles

- Endurance is going the whole day (not just the afternoon) - Protective rider clothing required (helmets too) - Correct and protective tack for the horses, bitless allowed - You're allowed to add in any local flora and fauna. - Endurance "Fire" Course - Inspiration France

Breakfast at the Beach / Lunch in the tents / Buffet in the tents Side activity 1 Everyday, morning 'til evening, catering is provided in both locations, mostly with very tasty dishes from the region, of course served with wine from the local winery (in Iceland's case, the wine is made of blueberries!) and an opportunity for entrants to network, plan and relax. - Inspiration folder France / Inspiration folder Iceland

Lighthouse tours & Last Picnic Side activity 2 On the last day, MSL staff organizes Lighthouse tours, from Svörtuloft and Cap Ferret, with one big picnic at the foot of each buildings. This is right after the awards have been handed over, it's a chance for participants to sit back, relax, enjoy the beautiful locations and hear Darcy's speech when she thanks everyone for participating! - Inspiration folder France / Inspiration folder Iceland

These side activities are meant for any stories, extra's and roleplaying opportunities with other entrants and stables, or even a small chat with MSL staff, feel free to comment if you’d like that!

The Judging All RNG classes will be judged using RNG and the results will be posted on November 1st. There will be "Ghost" entrants added in if there are less than 5 entrants. Effort classes will be judged by me, based on the rubric below. For Judge’s Choice, I will pick one entry I feel represents the event and setting well (this is entirely subjective). If you only draw your people in side activities but not in any classes, they won't be judged.

If an entrant didn't follow the rules stated above, or the entrant has been inappropriate/rude, they will be disqualified.

MSLpointFR presents The second edition of Les Vendanges, but MINI! Meaning this event will have less classes than last year and they will be judged with RNG!

In South-West France, where MSL is located, the months between July to October, harvest is done in the grape vine fields. MSL gathered the surrounding farms and wineries once again to offer a fun challenge for your horse & rider teams! However, this year the harvest of the grapes has been very poor because of an unusually wet summer. This impact will be reflected in the weather and autumnal surroundings.

There will be two classes and one side activity for fun! This event spans over one day in September story-wise.

MSL doesn’t endorse alcohol abuse and any wine tasting will be conducted under the watchful eye of our staff. For the non-alcoholic options, there will be a selection of local juices, syrups and cheeses.

Event Weather: Light grey skies filled with rainclouds, it will rain lightly throughout the day with temperatures never going over 22°C/71°F. Late evening, the skies clear up again, revealing a stunning sunset, just in time for the buffet.

Class 1: La Course de la Loutre "Otter's Race" Class: Cross Country (Preliminary / Novice) - RNG

- Minimal requirement of a halfbody entry (with or without background) - Course length: 2400 m - Jump height: 1.10 m - Protective rider clothing required (helmets too) - Correct and protective tack for the horses, bitless allowed This will take place in the morning on our Cross Country area. The course and jumps: Cross Country Otter Race

Class 2: La Course du Lièvre "Hare's Race" Class: Cross Country (Advanced) – Effort RNG

- Minimal requirement of fullbody entry with background - Course length: 3400 m - Jump height: 1.20 m - Protective rider clothing required (helmets too) - Correct and protective tack for the horses, bitless allowed This will take place in the afternoon on our Cross Country area. The course and jumps: Cross Country Hare Race

Bonfire Buffet Side activity Right after the last entrant, three bonfire pits will be lit up and all entrants are invited to enjoy a buffet of wines, juices, cheeses and syrups. There will also be a selection of warm meals for the hungry people: entrecôte in red wine sauce, vegan burgers and cannelés for dessert! Darcy will give a small speech to thank everyone for coming and open the buffet. This event is meant to mingle with other entrants and stables, or even a small chat with MSL staff, feel free to comment if you’d like that!

The Judging Both classes will be judged with RNG and the results will be posted on November 1st. For Judge’s Choice, I will pick one entry I feel represents the event and setting well (this is entirely subjective). The side activity is there for pure roleplay purposes and won’t give any advantages.
